Pocketed
Red
shiny
snooker balls
cluster tightly
in a triangle.
Like ripe, juicy cherries
sitting plump on green baize ground,
they wait for the game to commence.
Cannoning cue ball breaks formation;
one red sphere rolls to meet its destiny.

vivid and fun words...
lovely poem!
Happy Sunday!
This IS difficult and you did it so well! Lovely visually. I admire the way it unfolded.
A fascinating form poem, Jinksy. And I agree it doesn't look all that easy. I love the last line, One red sphere rolls to meet its destiny."
Fun! I love what you are doing with your new header too.
Cool! I've never tried this, looks very difficult. May never try it. lol
Well done.
Very clever! I'll have to give this form a try.
I enjoyed this poem and the new form!
So snooker is...billiards? My father used to use the term and I never knew what he was talking about lol.
Nicely done. :-)
You did an excellent job and this one...I have never tried it...might have to do that...blessings...bkm
Goodness, people! Thank you all for visiting this alternative reality, as opposed to my normal haunt at http://havantaclue.blogspot.com/, where you can find more odd odes and stuff..
Oops! Forgot to tick email box first time a round!
Thanks, Jinksy. I was beginning to think "SFTWE,Sir?" had died! When you look back, why not put links to some of the other etherees you have written? They are all to be enjoyed.
As smart as a new pin but far too clever for me.
Thanks for keeping this site alive in my absence. I used to be a keen blogger some years back receiving literally hundred of comments but no one loves me any more not since work and other tedious things have got in the way of my socialising here.
Doc F is wrong though, this site is not dead simply resting!
