World Poetry Day

Who was it that said, "All bad poetry springs from genuine feeling"?

Who was it that said, “Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.”

Who was it that said, “I would define ... the Poetry of words as The Rhythmical Creation of Beauty.”

Who was it that said, "The world is never the same once a good poem has been added to it."

Who was it that said, "Genuine poetry can communicate before it is understood."

Who was that said, "Poetry is just the evidence of life. If your life is burning well, poetry is just the ash."

Who was it that said, "Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular."

Who was it that said, "Poets deal in writing about feelings and trying to find the language and images for intense feelings."

Who was it that said, "I believe the poet shouldn't be in the poem at all except as a lens or as ears.."

Who was it that said, "Remember, we are mortal, but poetry is not."
